Inverness Film’s first film Bòcan will screen at Arts Centre

Nighttime film shoot for Bòcan

A group of local film enthusiasts have created a film group called Inverness Film.
“We are pleased to announce that we have just finished our first short film. We would like to invite the public to the premiere screening at Inverness County Centre for the Arts on Sunday, May 19th, at 7:30 p.m. There is no admission fee, but if you wish to make a donation it will go to the Inverness County Centre for the Arts,” says spokesperson Beth Ryan of Inverness.
The film Bòcan is based on two Inverness ghost stories. The film itself is in English with Gaelic subtitles and the narration is in Gaelic with English subtitles. As an added bonus you will get to see a short stop motion animation film called Baaa!
“We’d really like you to come and join us for this event. There will be a question and answer period after the film. If you are interested, you are welcome to join the group and work on our next venture,” Ryan added.
Colin Ogden is one of the founding members of Inverness Film.
“We’ve had a great mix of 40 to 50, who have been involved in this project since we began just about a year ago. Some members had involvement in the film industry in the past and for others, it’s a first-time venture. We would like to thank everyone who helped out or supported our production in any way and we are pleased that so many have caught the film bug and we expect they will continue to be interested as we continue to move forward,” Ogden concluded.
