Put on your jeans and cowboy boots and come on out to Wranglers n’Roulette on Friday, September 19th, at the Inverness County Centre for the Arts at 16080 Highway 19 in Inverness.
The event is in support of programming for Mill Road Social Enterprises. The non-profit organization is a community-based developmental centre that serves adults with diverse needs. They offer ability-focused services and have about 20 participants in a wide range of programs. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy on-site training and employment at HomeTown Bakery, The Closet thrift store, Online Auction, Mobile Meals, and Mill Road Grows accessible community garden and greenhouse.
This is the fourth year for their popular casino night fundraiser.
Your $25 admission includes $30 in fun chips for casino games. More chips can be bought, and at the end of the night, chips can be entered in a prize raffle.
So enjoy some hors d’oeuvres as you play some blackjack, crown and anchor, or try your luck at the roulette table.
But if gambling isn’t your style, there will be horseshoes, corn toss, and a game they created that they are confident people will enjoy.
The fun starts at 7:00 p.m., and they strongly encourage people to come then. It’s a great time to gather, check out the auction items, get a drink at the bar, and discover what is in store for the evening.
Along with enjoying the games, there are some great ways to win some prizes. There will be two rounds of mystery bags. For $10, you can buy a bag that has, at minimum, a $5 voucher to the Hometown Bakery. But one lucky bag will also have a list of prizes worth over $500. There will also be a 50/50 draw, a raffle on a stunning large larch wood board for your kitchen, a silent auction, and four exclusive events up for live auction. Bring cash to enjoy some of these extras.
The theme for the evening is Wranglers n’ Roulette, so dust off your western boots, hat, and vest, and try to win the prize for Best Western Attire.
The evening wraps up at 11:00 p.m. with the announcement of the winners of the auction.
Mary MacMaster, director for Mill Road Social Enterprises, thanks their platinum sponsor, Ocean Spray Investments, as well as the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation, for all of their support.
So come on out and have some fun as you support a very worthy cause.
