One of the challenges for any non-profit, or any business for that matter, is to come up with a unique idea that hasn’t been tried before and Strathspey Place has done just that this year for Valentine’s Day.
This year Strathspey Place is partnering with the Clove Hitch Bar and Bistro to bring you a Sweetheart Soiree on Tuesday, February 14th, at 7:00 p.m.
The evening promises to be a “high class, fun evening with exquisite local cuisine prepared by the Clove Hitch Bar and Bistro and music by Cyril MacPhee,” says Strathspey Place executive director Tracey MacNeil.
A limited number of tickets are available and can be purchased online or by calling the Strathspey Place box office at 902-945- 5300 or tickets can be bought in person at the box office. Strathspey Place needs to sell 60 tickets prior to Friday, February 10th in order to proceed and they hope to sell as many as 80 tickets.
“This marks our first time trying an event like this. Customers and patrons will be seated on the stage of Strathspey Place. It will be an intimate, warm, and cozy environment. Music will be provided by singer/songwriter Cyril MacPhee. I may even take a turn on the grand piano and Ryan MacDonald will be using his audiovisual skills to provide clips from classic romance films which will play on the big the screen. Exquisite appetizers will be provided by Patricia and chef Jason from the Clove Hitch. While it won’t be a three course meal there will be lovely food and lovely wine and we’re hoping the community will embrace this event,” MacNeil told The Oran this week.
The tasting menu will feature a charcuterie plate as an appetizer. The main course will be Asian BBQ beef and chicken lollipop with Thai red curry dip. For dessert you can enjoy chocolate truffle, shortbread with salted caramel dip and cheesecake bites. “There will also be a ‘welcome surprise’ offered as part of the menu,” said MacNeil..
“This event will set the stage for love, literally!,” MacNeil concluded.
